How to Install Apps to the SD Card by Default on Android 2.2 Froyo
The Android 2.2 Froyo feature that most people have been looking forward to is likely official support for installing apps to the SD card. It’s something that many feel should have been included from the start, and I guess we’ve all gotten the dreaded “phone storage is getting low” notification on our Android devices at one point or the other. I personally ran out of internal storage just one day after I bought my HTC Desire (impressed or appalled?).
There are certain tricks to regain a couple of MB here and there, like clearing the cache that some applications use, but for those with a taste for apps and games, the phone storage limitation has been quite a nuisance.
To install an app to the SD card on Android Froyo, the application itself needs to support it. In my experience though, most current apps can be moved to the external storage. However, the Froyo system installs all new applications on your device’s internal memory by default, except for those that explicitly request external installation. Luckily, it’s possible to make your Android 2.2 phone put apps on the SD card by default instead. Here’s how:
First you have to enable USB debugging on your Android device from Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging.
Now you need to download and install the Android SDK on your computer from http://developer.android.com/sdk/. Once you’ve downloaded and extracted the package to the folder of your choice, run SDK Setup.exe and click on Available Packages to the left. If you get an error message at this point, enable “Force https://…” in the Settings. From the list of available packages, select “Usb Driver package”, click on the Install Selected button in the bottom right corner and follow the prompts.
Connect your phone to your computer with a USB-cable. Your OS will prompt you to install new drivers. Choose to install them from the android-sdk/usb_driver folder. Do not mount your device; you only need to plug-in the cable.
Next, run a command prompt and navigate to the Android-SDK\tools folder. In Windows, this is done by selecting Run from the Start Menu (or by pressing Win+R) and typing cmd. You change drives in the command prompt by entering the drive letter followed by a colon (
, and change folders with the CD command. For example, to enter the Android-SDK folder, simply type cd android-sdk.
In the Android-SDK\tools folder, type in adb devices and you should get a serial number starting with “H” in return. All you have to do next is entering adb shell pm setInstallLocation 2. Voilà, you’re done! Android will now install apps to the SD card by default.
To switch back to storing software on the internal memory, enter adb shell pm setInstallLocation 0.
I should point out that it’s preferable to install certain apps to the main memory, since it will take a while before the SD card becomes available when you start your phone. Applications installed on the memory card will also be unavailable to the system each time you mount your phone as a disk drive. The internal storage is probably quicker as well, even though Google claims that “there is no effect on the application performance so long as the external storage is mounted on the device.” In general, apps that integrate with the Android OS and that often run in the background is better to install on the internal storage, while games and most other applications will have no problem chilling outside on your SD.
Homescreen widgets should be installed to the internal storage as well. I noticed that LauncherPro, for example, won’t recognize widgets stored on the SD card when you start your phone, because when the app is launched, the memory card is still unavailable.

How to access the sharing data offline
Access the shared data offline allows you to keep using your shared files, folders and software programs when disconnected from the data server. When you reconnect to your data server, all files will be synchronized to the files on the network.
There are two types of configurations required to set the access shared folders offline available, one for data server and other for client computer.
Configuration on Data Server.
First locate the folders that you would like to share or make new folders then share these folders so they can be accessible to any one on the network.
Now right click on that folder and click on the option "Sharing and security".
A small dialog box will appear with the title "data properties". Under the "Sharing" tab, select the check box "Share this folder on the network" under the "Network sharing and security".
Now set the share level permissions that you want to give the users on every folder. Enable cache of share folders by click on cache button (by default it will be enabled).
Configuration on Client Computer
On the client computer, first open My Computer then click on Tools.
In Tools menu bar, click on Folder Options, a window will appear with the title Folder Options.
Under the Offline File tab, check the option Enable Offline File. Here you can choose the synchronization process "Synchronize all offline files when logging on", "Synchronize all offline files before logging off" and others.
Click on Apply button to save the settings and then Ok button to close this window.
Now sitting on the client computer, try to access the shared folder from the data server.
First Right click on the shared folder and Click on Make available offline.
To synchronizing the offline work from client computer to data server, again open My Computer then click on Tools. Click on Synchronize then click on synchronizing button.

In January 2010 David Hufford, senior director of Xbox product management, said in a briefing at the Consumer Electronics Show 2010 in Las Vegas that there’s no need for an Xbox 720 yet. To quote: “I think it’s important to say that the Xbox 360 is the console of the long future for us. There is no need to launch a new console, because we’re able to give this console new life either with software upgrades or hardware upgrades like Project Natal. The Xbox 360 was designed for a long life, and I don’t even know if we’re at the midpoint yet.”

Kaz Hirai, the Sony Computer Entertainment head, has announced that they aren’t even deliberating on the next PlayStation console. In fact, they believe that the PS3 is only half-way done, he told PC Impress Watch.
What do they mean by that? Well, in the past, consoles like the PS2 and xBox were replaced within five years. By then, newer and better technology was released, so they had to keep up with gamer expectations. But the PS3 is predicted to have a ten year life cycle.This is slightly good news, because that means Sony will continue to add new additions to the already multi-functional media hub. Since the PS3 already has a video store, Vudu, and Netflix. Plus all of the major game companies are attempting to make their games downloadable, so if the console were changed, all of these games would need to be altered.So it may be another five years before the next generation of gaming consoles, so don’t expect to see the PlayStation 4 too soon. Besides, Sony is releasing something new that can compete with gamers and keep them entertained even away from home: the Sony Ericcson Xperia Play and their next generation portable, codenamed NGP.

Six days ago Nintendo announced its plans to launch a Wii successor next year. The better part of this announcement was that Nintendo will actually demo the new console on the upcoming E3 expo this June in LA.
Nintendo gave no more official information on the subject, but its CEO promised to bring a new approach to home gaming consoles.
A new Wii console is a quite logical step and the year 2012 sounds like the right time to launch it – not because it’ll be the end of the world, but because the original Wii will be more than 5 years old then.
Recently, there was a rumor about a new touch-screen based Nintendo controller that seemed unbelievable at the time, but now that I hear this, it makes me think it over. The gaming industry is rapidly evolving and who knows what is really going into the Nintendo’s labs. I guess we’ll see that at the E3.
Now about those leaked Wii 2 specs. As rumor has it, the console, codenamed Project Cafe, will pack an AMD R700 GPU and a custom made triple-core IBM processor similar to the Xbox 360 one, but with higher clock speeds. The R700 GPU is said to be more powerful than the PlayStation 3’s NVIDIA GPU. It will be capable of 1080p video output with 3D stereoscopic option.
The rumored prices go between $350 and $400 – an excellent price to launch a new console.

Symbian Anna (AKA PR2) To Be Available For N8, C7, C6-01 and E7
April 12, Nokia held a press conference in Finland, has released two new Smart phones - Nokia E6 And Nokia X7 While these two new aircraft equipped with Nokia's new upgrade system - Symbian Anna. The system is an upgraded version of Symbian ^ 3, that is, before we spoke of the Symbian ^ 3 PE2.0. In general, within a given model, SIM-free devices will be the first to receive the update. Operators may require additional checks and certification to be carried out, adding additional time to the delivery date. Nokia's broad intention is that all Symbian^3 devices should have received the update by this summer. This does represent a delay over previous commitments to PR 2.0. However, Symbian Anna does include some components not originally intended for PR 2.0 and Nokia noted that it wanted to focus on delivering a stable and competitive update.

1. True lesser resolution, but the tab for that though a bit more pixels definitely won't hurt.
2. True its "technically" slower, but not as a phone. Actually it whips the X10 and also the Galaxy S
3. To get over 1 day of life on the Android phones, i had to do many things, with the N8 i can easily get 2 days, and with power conservation on i can get 3 days!
4. While i have other cameras, having to be able to shoot at the spur of the moment brings the phone camera into action. The N8 camera scores big time and so does its video. Even without the flash the camera excels, and indoor with the xenon flash makes it as good as any digital camera.
5. True the standard browser sucks, but then again how many used the standard browser even on Android (and anybody tried proper browsing on an IPhone). I use Opera Mobile and it works super fine for what i need.
